Healthy future

Health and sport have always been a top priority at Admonter.

The “Healthy future – the Admont team on the move” project focuses on the health of employees in the form of joint activities and campaigns.

Blood donation campaign

Every year, a blood donation campaign takes place in the Admont timber industry. This gives employees the opportunity to donate blood during working hours. To ensure that the campaign runs smoothly at the workplace and as many donors as possible can take part, the blood donation service from Graz sets up the seminar room with couches and medical equipment. Employees of the Red Cross Liezen provide the donors with a snack after the donation. “As part of our company health management program, the health of our own employees as well as that of our fellow human beings is very important to us. We are therefore particularly pleased that so many people always take part in the campaign and that we can make an important contribution to life-saving measures,” explains Sabine Stachl, Human Resource Manager at Admonter.

Healthy future

Health and sport have always been a top priority at Admonter. Together with the Upper Austrian paratriathlete Oliver Dreier, who has been sponsored by Admonter for years, the joint initiative “Healthy future – the Admonter team on the move” was launched: “Healthy future” is intended to motivate the Admonter team to take a conscious approach to their own health in the form of activities such as walking and running meetings, yoga and fitness sessions, lectures by health specialists and a sportswear campaign. “We value our employees very highly. As a sign of this, we have launched this company health project, which is intended to establish itself sustainably and long-term throughout the entire company. After all, doing something for your health is also a sign of appreciation towards yourself,” says CEO Helmut Klausner. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen employees’ health awareness in the long term and to integrate the associated activities into everyday working life. Because we all know one thing: health is the basis of everything we do. We can only do good things if we feel good.

Best conditions

The “Healthy future – the Admonter team on the move” initiative of Admonter Holzindustrie AG is entering the next round. Following the official launch in August, the aim now is to create the best possible conditions for all participating employees to actively take part in the project. This includes a sportswear campaign, a visit from the orthopaedist at Admonter including a running shoe campaign and the establishment of running and walking meetings in everyday working life. The Admonter sportswear campaign provides all employees taking part in the initiative with a comprehensive set of running clothes for a small contribution towards costs. In the near future, the Admont running group will be recognizable by its uniform outfit. A further step towards employee health was taken with a visit from an orthopaedist at Admonter. This gave everyone the opportunity to have their feet professionally examined and to have their feet fitted with made-to-measure insoles. Many employees took advantage of this offer and will benefit from it very soon. In addition, a wide variety of running shoes were offered at a special price in order to cater to the different needs of future athletes. Thanks to all these accompanying measures, the sports meetings have become more established and have already become a fixed point in the working week for some of the Admont employees. Whether in the ambitious running group or the brisk walking team – the Admonters enjoy exercising together much more.

Step by step

Admonter Holzindustrie’s health initiative ” Healthy future – the Admonter team on the move – is entering the next round. While the walking and running meetings are already an integral part of everyday working life, lectures on the subject of health and indoor training sessions are now being added to support employees on their way to a healthier future. None other than the fitness coach of the ÖFB team was hired for this. The first meeting with Dr. Gerhard Zallinger took place at the end of September, where he shared his knowledge of exercise and physical health with the Admonter team. The topic of health offers countless starting points, with Dr. Zallinger focusing on lifestyle and general awareness of the body. It does not make sense to want to change and transform everything from one day to the next, but to proceed in small steps according to the motto “One Simple Change”. The power of breathing and the autonomic musculature, including its self-healing powers, were also part of the inspiring lecture, which was rounded off with a series of practical examples and exercises. The entire Admonter team in attendance were able to take away a message or an incentive for their personal journey and are already looking forward to the next meeting with the health expert, which will also be followed by joint training sessions.

Admonter Team

The days are getting shorter and colder. No reason for the Admont team to go into hibernation. Coached by fitness trainer Dr. Gerhard Zallinger, the autumn and the beginning of winter are already being used for intensive indoor training to improve fitness and strength. The Admont team, which all interested employees can join at any time, now goes to the gym at the Stiftsgymnasium Admont every week and improves its performance during 1.5 hours of intensive training. Office and production staff sweat side by side, which not only benefits strength and stamina, but also the interpersonal working atmosphere. The sense of togetherness is reinforced by the Admonter sportswear provided to the employees. With this in mind, Admonter will continue to work together on and for health in order to move towards a healthy future, both as a company and as private individuals.
