We have been working with wood in our densely wooded Admont region for almost 1000 years. Its incorruptible
beauty and originality have influenced our craft and our thinking since the very beginning. Therefore
We are therefore firmly convinced that only a careful approach to nature and people can produce something special.
Something that is still right at second glance and whose beauty works both internally and externally.
The “Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes” (PEFC) is independent proof that wood and the products made from it come from sustainably managed forests.
It is one of the largest timber certification systems in the world and ensures that our forests
forests with their diverse functions are preserved for future generations.

Managing energy: Wood waste from the production process that
that cannot be used as materials are used to generate energy in the company’s own heating plant. The energy from the Admont heating plant supplies the entire office and factory premises of the Admont timber industry and, thanks to the connection to the local district heating network, also the entire Benedictine Abbey of Admont and around 200 households.

Recyclingmanagement: In recent years, Admonter has
focus on waste recycling and avoidance in recent years.
and avoidance of waste.
Energy management: optimizing the compressed air and
energy supply, the installation of photovoltaic systems
on the hall roofs or converting the lighting to

The Austrian Ecolabel is a government-awarded seal of quality that identifies environmentally friendly products. Products labeled with the Ecolabel for indoor use have no or only low levels of pollutants and thus make an important contribution to indoor air quality (see Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, publication The Austrian Ecolabel 2014).
Whether it’s a new build or renovation: for most building families today, sustainable construction is a matter of course. It is important to consider the environmental properties of the materials used over the entire life cycle of a building – from construction to recycling. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an important and, above all, neutral orientation tool on the not always straightforward path to a sustainable home.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is intended to make it easier for building families, architects and fabricators to compare the environmental impact of different products. An EPD is a neutral instrument for communicating the environmental properties of products and their manufacture, verified by an independent body and in accordance with standardized rules. In addition to certifications and approvals, companies are free to draw up an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The EPD is a neutral instrument for communicating the environmental properties of a product. It documents the environmental performance over the product life cycle “ecological footprint” – based on a life cycle assessment. The program owner of our EPD is the German Institute for Building and Environment (IBU).
Anyone who plans to build a house in Germany and would like to receive funding from KfW must meet sustainability criteria. As we at Admonter stand for tested quality, we have now also had the large number of our ecologically relevant product tests certified by the Sentinel Institute specifically for the criteria according to QNG and have received the award for QNG-Ready products.
Many of the points discussed here are not currently a legal obligation. However, we take our responsibility for the environment and the future of our planet very seriously. Our aim is to leave as small an ecological footprint as possible – which is why we continue to work on improving ourselves every day.
